Celebrating 'Bidhiinja - Restoring Our Oyster Reefs'

Fancy some bubbles and oysters with a side of science? Join us for this special event that features the Bidhiinja - Restoring Our Oyster Reefs exhibition, a talk from Jillian Keating (DPI Oyster Reef Restoration), topped with an oyster and sparkling wine tasting.

Friday 16th August
3.00 - 4:30pm

The plight of oyster reefs has been nearly invisible, both globally and locally. “Bidhiinja – Restoring Our Oyster Reefs” is a travelling exhibition showing at the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum. The exhibition has been co-created by DPI Fisheries and the Australian National Maritime Museum, which shares stories of these forgotten reefs by combining First Nations Knowledge, western science and stunning design work by Aboriginal artists. Join us to learn about this fascinating habitat that so few are aware of, their cultural and ecological significance and how a range of partners are now working to restore these unique and vibrant habitats to our seascape map.
